In the heart of Paris, close to the Parc Monceau, rises an amazing Chinese pagoda.
Its founder, Ching-Tsai Loo, was a renowned antique dealer, a pioneer in America and initiator many Asian arts collections in the West.
The Pagoda was his showcase and wonderworld.

She Makes Boats
2025 - Museum exhibition project

“She Makes Boats” is a new museum project that tells about the work and lives of female traditional boatbuilder.
It is a journey into their world to discover their passionate work, the struggle to keep and transmit the intangible heritage, the strong connection with the coastal communities and the natural environment where they live and work.
By this project, we wish to create a strong connection between the visitors of the exhibition and the boatbuilders’ world in order to explain, show and make the visitors understand and appreciate the challenging universe behind a traditional boat.

An original idea by Charlotte Longépé who interviewed and filmed Jacopo Brancati working outdoor and into the darkroom.
About 12 video were turned, edited and put online by Charlotte.
